Beste supporters,

Eergisteren werd ik 15e op 170renners in mijn 2e deelname van de Ronde Van Lombardije voor de beloften (UCI).

Na een zenuwslopende openingsfase begon de wedstrijd pas open te breken net voor de Madonna Del Ghisallo, deze helling was 8km lang met een paar stukken boven de 10%. Ik hield goed stand vooraan en kon met de eerste renners ( ongeveer 20 renners) bovenkomen.

Bij het afdalen kwamen er nog 30-tal renners terug en konden we beginnen aan de finale waar er nog 2 pittige hellingen inzaten met stukken meet dan 20%. Bij de 1e van de 2 hellingen ging ik mee met de groep der favorieten en kon zo meespelen in de finale waar we op de laatste helling met 20 renners overbleven ongeveer. Er waren 3 renners voorop die streden voor de overwinning. Bij het afdalen naar de finish was het opletten voor enkele gaatjes maar die vielen er niet en zo spurtte onze groep voor plaats 4. ik werd in de spurt 11e in mijn groep en werd 15e. Ploegmaat Jordi werd mooi 5e.

Morgen sta ik aan de start van de GP Jules Vanhevel te Ichtegem. Dit betreft een ééndagswedstrijd over 126 km verdeeld over 14 plaatselijke ronden van 9 km. De start van deze wedstrijd is voorzien om 14u30.
